Web Analytics: Yahoo Gets Serious

Yahoo announced the availability for its search and display advertisers to use the company's enterprise level Yahoo! Web Analytics tool for free.

Yahoo! Analytics (formerly IndexTools) was released in October of 2008. Back in February, a CMS Watch study revealed that Yahoo! beat out Google Analytics in several key areas, despite the services administrative complexity.


Where Yahoo! Analytics seperates itself from other similar tools in is the ability to access demographic and behavioral insight on websites visitors. Users of the analytics solution can identify the age, gender, city, and online interests directly within Yahoo! Analytics making the process of extrapolating qualitative indicators far easier than through other solutions.

Yahoo! Analytics also offers near-real-time reporting, and visiiblity into as many as fifty different types of actions that can take place on a site. This new version of Yahoo! Web Analytics can track up to 15 steps of your conversion process to see where you’re most liable to lose someone.

The new version is available for any of our advertisers who work with an account manager, but it’s most suited for large advertisers with complex analytical needs and the resources to set up and manage analytics.
