Web.com Sellers Simplify with MasterCard
Web.com, a provider of online marketing services and solutions, announced last week that they will be using MasterCard's Simplify Commerce as the payment provider for its new Take-a-Payment service.
The 3 million small business owners that currently use Web.com's Take-a-Payment service (which offers consumers the ability to pay invoices, pay service fees or make donations) will be using the merchant account and payments gateway that is provided by Simplify Commerce.
No specific pricing information was provided in the formal announcement, but Simplify Commerce (which integrates with a long list of ecommerce platforms including NOPComemrce, Prestashop, Magento and others) currently charges a 2.85% transaction fee plus 30 cents per transaction, but without any setup or monthly fees.

“At our core, we wanted to create a product that is incredibly simple for merchants to set up and easy for consumers to use. Being able to integrate payments into a seamless experience was critical, and Simplify Commerce gave us what we needed,” says David Brown, chairman, CEO and president of Web.com. “Combined with the scale, understanding of payments and the trust that comes along with the MasterCard name, Simplify Commerce delivers a safe, simple and secure way to pay to our merchants and their customers.”
