Web Host Helps With Top Cloud Challenge

Posted on 7.24.2016

Security is no longer the top cloud challenge according to a 2016 report from RightScale. Rather, lack of resources/expertise tops the list; and 1&1 looks to help.

1&1 has announced the expansion of its cloud portfolio by offering 1&1 Managed Cloud Hosting, which allows customersto leverage a "flexible cloud solution" with no administration effort. According to the company, 1&1 will provide maintenance and continuous updates of customer systems, so that Web projects are always up to date. Built on Docker container technology, the 1&1 Managed Cloud Server costs $5 more a month than the standard Cloud Server offering, while the used server resources are billed per minute as usual.

"With our 1&1 Managed Cloud Hosting we support our customers even more in managing their Web projects. Since they no longer have to stop with the administration of their systems, they can fully concentrate on their core business", says Robert Hoffman, CEO 1 & 1 Internet SE. "The used container technology Docker makes their cloud infrastructure more agile, increases the availability of their online services and helps them to be even more successful on the Internet."
