WebRTC Personalizes Web & Expo Offer

Posted on 3.25.2013

WebRTC Conference and Expo is headed down to Atlanta, Georgia, June 25-27. Architects, enablers and users of Web real-time communication (RTC) will gather to advance standards, implementations and knowledge while discovering the most promising emerging applications for WebRTC. The event was designed to give participants the opportunity to learn the current state of WebRTC and its future from top thought leaders, which includes speakers from AT&T, Cisco, Ericsson, Google, Oracle, Sonus and many others.

For the unfamiliar, WebRTC is an open source project that enables Web browsers with RTC capabilities via simple Javascript APIs. WebRTC implements the W3C's proposal for video conferencing on the Web.

Several groups are excited by WebRTC's possibilities to make the Web experience far more personal. This includes e-commerce merchants who can leverage its capabilities to expand their website's contact us features to include real-time voice and video communication.

"The other folks who see a tremendous potential are those who telecommute now, because this is a way for the office extension to truly be an office extension," said Carl Ford, Crossfire CEO and DevCon5 Content and Community Executive Director.

Additionally, the Web can be difficult to navigate for those with sight or other physical limitations. The ability to interact with a website with just their voice can make the Web more accessible.

The event will cater to the follow attendees:

- Applications developers in product companies and enterprises seeking to use WebRTC to create new capabilities or enhance existing offers.

- Those involved with B2B, B2C, contact centers, unified communications, social or other Web apps needing to understand how WebRTC applications will transform their businesses.

Early bird registration is over for this event, but Website Magazine readers can receive a 20 percent discount by using the WM discount code.
