Consumers are becoming more comfortable using their phones to pay for products or services according to recent MasterCard research.
In fact, MasterCard’s third annual Mobile Payments Study showed a significant growth in volume of conversations revolving around mobile payments in 2014, as well as a change in both the tone and focus of the social discussions. For example, 94 percent of global conversations around mobile payments were favorable in 2014, compared to 77 percent in 2013 and 70 percent in 2012. Moreover, the most positive conversations center around innovation, rewards, loyalty and convenience.
It is also important to note that 91 percent of the safety and security conversations in 2014 were favorable, which is up from 20 percent in 2012.
