Interested in the mobile market but don't know how or where to start? If you use Wordpress, the popular open-source blogging tool as your website or a portion of your site, a new plug-in can get you started. It enables a Wordpress blog to be automatically detected by mobile devices and immediately reconfigured to optimally display content to fit the mobile screen.

Created by Andy Moore of Web2Txt and teamed with AdMob, the new plug-in allows not only for mobile configuration but advertisements to be strategically placed and displayed within the blog content that is seen on the mobile device.

"We aim to reduce the entry level to mobile publishing by making it easy for WordPress users to go mobile and reap the rewards of AdMob's advertising in just a few clicks," said Moore. "This plug-in lets bloggers adhere to standards without having extra knowledge or getting their hands dirty in any code. It's easy to publish to mobile in a matter of seconds."

This seems like an excellent way to extend the reach of your blog, monetize a new source of traffic and experiment with the mobile marketplace. In addition, the plug-in allows posts to be published and files to be uploaded from mobile devices, real-time traffic and click reports and managing ads that run on the blog.
