Writers Get Measured with Stats
As a writer, it is important to know how your content resonates with an audience, as it can help you to identify popular topics and refine your content strategy.
Popular Q&A site Quora recognized this and decided to launch a new analytics product specifically for writers called Stats. The product aims to help writers understand their content’s impact on the site through distribution data. According to Quora’s blog, the company has reached a point where some writers have content that is attracting more than 1 million views per month and upwards of 10 million annualized views on the site. In the future, the company expects some writers will even pass 20-30mm annual views.
“One of our earliest goals was to help our writers understand the impact they are having on the world – the reach of what they write and the size of their audience,” the Quora blog states.
This is where Stats comes into play. The product displays a variety of key metrics on a single dashboard, including topline numbers about views, upvotes and shares. This enables writers to view trends and quickly see which content is the most popular. Stats will replace the old Views page as a stronger analytics tool for writers. Plus, it is important to note that writers can access Stats both on the Web and through Quora’s iOS and Android apps. The analytics tool is currently being rolled out, and should be available to all within the next couple of weeks. When Stats is enabled, writers will see an announcement over their home feed.
