First Look at Panama

Avenue A | Razorfish has released a report on their first experiences with Panama, Yahoo's new bid for placement advertising interface. Avenue A | Razorfish provided data points on 22 current search clients in relation to search volume, click rate, cost per click and conversion rate for the 10 days prior to, and 10 days post, the Panama launch. Avenue A | Razorfish stated the data varied widely across its sampled clients but stated that the trends may be useful in guiding strategies in the post-Panama marketplace.

The following trends were observed:


- Search Impressions – Up an average of 5%
- Cost Per Click – Down an average of 6%
- Click Rate – Up an average of 10%
- Conversion Rates – Down an average of 5%
- Overall CPA – Up an average of 6%
