Busy pay-per-click advertisers should welcome the new updates to the Yahoo! Search Marketing Desktop, designed to simplify the management of multiple campaigns. Upgrades to the free offline tool are intended to save time in five key areas-bulk editing; campaign transfer; keyword research; find, replace and search, and account performance statistics.

Mass changes to settings such as status, match types and budgets can now be made within an intuitive interface, and users can increase or decrease multiple keyword bids and export their view of keywords, ads, ad groups and campaigns into Excel for use however they wish. They can also import third-party campaign data in one easy step.

A new keyword suggestion engine will find and add new, relevant keywords to campaigns, retrieve URL-based keyword suggestions to increase their keyword relevance and improve performance, and export the keyword suggestions into Excel to share the information or to add tracking URLs. Advertisers can find and replace text in ads, keywords, ad groups and campaigns, search for specific campaigns, ad groups, ads, or keywords in their account, or search for information in any of the account tabs.

Users may also retrieve status and statistics for their account's impressions, clicks, CTR, cost, ad quality scores and other information.
