YouTube Unveils Donation Cards
YouTube is helping creators raise money for their favorite causes with a new feature called donation cards.
To leverage the feature, creators simply need to add a donation card from within the YouTube video manager and pick a U.S., IRS-validated 501(c)3 public nonprofit organization. The chosen organization then receives 100 percent of the money donated. Although the feature is currently only available in the U.S., YouTube says it looks forward to expanding it into other countries.
“YouTube has over a billion users. That’s almost one-third of all people on the Internet. And everyday those users watch hundreds of millions of hours of video, racking up billions of views – which are now billions of opportunities to do good,” YouTube said in its announcement.
