Visual ecommerce merchandise management solution Smart Merchandiser has unveiled a cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) version of its flagship product.

Smart Merchandiser can be leveraged to streamline the online visual merchandising process based on analytics, ratings, conversion rates, inventory and other data. The new cloud-based version enables merchandisers to take advantage of Smart Merchandiser's latest features instantly and more affordably.

Smart Merchandiser features a drag-and-drop interface designed for catalog sequencing. Moreover, the platform overlays analytics, ratings, conversion rates and inventory data from IBM WebSphere Commerce and other sales and marketing sources onto graphical depictions of actual product catalogs. The insights available in a single location helps merchandises make smarter layout decisions, color and size inventory fluctuations, as well as social posts and promotions.

"Smart Merchandiser represents everything we've been looking for in a tool that will help streamline workflow for our merchants, as well as provide additional business intelligence to assist in merchandising decisions," said Greg Pulsifer, vice president of VF Digital Platform, Commerce, The North Face.

It is important to note that with Smart Merchandiser, marketers, merchandisers and ecommerce professionals are able to reduce the time required to create, edit and update online storefronts. In fact, the company notes that Smart Merchandiser clients experience up to a 70 percent reduction in time required for merchandising tasks, as well as up to a 20 percent increase in conversion rates.

Smart Merchandiser's SaaS version is hosted on IBM Bluemix. The tool also integrates with two enterprise search platforms, EasyAsk and Solr, for powerful site search and navigation designed to boost revenue opportunities and strengthen customer relationships.

"With cloud computing increasingly powering the ecommerce and merchandising industry, we realized there was a need for a tool that could be deployed in the cloud for faster and more affordable access," said Teresa Zobrist, president and CEO of Smart Merchandiser. "We're excited to launch Smart Merchandiser's SaaS model and continue providing merchandisers everything they need to be more productive and successful."
