**According to the recently released [MarketingSherpa Ecommerce Benchmark Study](https://www.marketingsherpa.com/offers/2014-ecommerce-marketing/?utm_source=MEC&utm_medium=PressRelease&utm_content=05192014&utm_campaign=EcommerceBMS), most conversion-to-sale rates for ecommerce sites fall below 5 percent.**

 While at the Internet Retailer Conference and Exhibition (IRCE) in Chicago, IL, Ben Pressley, head of worldwide sales for [Magento](https://business.adobe.com/products/magento/magento-commerce.html), and [Website Magazine's](https://www.websitemagazine.com) own Editor-in-Chief Pete Prestipino sat down with Daniel Burstein, director of editorial content at [MECLABS](https://www.meclabs.com/), in the [MarketingSherpa](https://www.marketingsherpa.com/) Media Center.

 While discussing the latest Benchmark Study, Pressley said that most successful companies have designed an optimized website for both the tablet and smartphone experience.
