This data is good news for developers, who have now earned $15 billion through the App Store. --- "We'd like to thank our customers for making 2013 the best year ever for the App Store," said Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of Internet Software and Services. "The lineup of apps for the holiday season was astonishing and we look forward to seeing what developers create in 2014." The App Store currently offers more than 1 million apps, in 24 categories, to its users in 155 countries. According to the company, iOS 7 contributed to the success of the App Store in 2013, as it enabled developers to create apps that took advantage of the redesigned user interface, as well as the more than 200 new features and APIs. ![Allison Howen](https://www.websitemagazine.com/hubfs/Allison%20Howen.jpeg) [Allison Howen](https://www.websitemagazine.com/marketing/author/allison-howen) I'm a creative and adaptable journalist with experience in both print and digital media.
