Viva La Resolution

There's a new screen resolution taking over the Web these days. While the 1024 x 768 resolution has been the most widely used for some time, recent data by StatCounter shows that it has now been surpassed in popularity in the U.S. by higher resolution 1366 x 768 screens, which now make up 19.28 percent of all screens on the Web.

In Europe, the 1366 x 768 resolution has already been the more widely used offering since late last year. The rising use of the higher resolution screens isn't a huge shock to anyone, least of all Microsoft, which long ago claimed it would target the 1366 x 768 screens as the standard resolution for Windows 8.
