Application intelligence platform Distimo has unveiled a new resource that provides download and revenue trends for any application (worldwide) in the Apple App Store, Google Play and the Amazon Appstore.
Distimo App Trends shows daily trend data for the past two weeks, pulling information from its Distimo AppIQ product, which utilizes a large set of data (over three billion download transactions per quarter) in order to estimate the daily downloads and revenues for individual apps. Distimo suggests that its app data is statistically sound - 54 percent of apps are estimated with a margin of error below three percent, and 95 percent are estimated with a margin of error below 10 percent.
While reviewers won't see the actual number of downloads or amount of revenue for apps (a paid Distimo account is required for that), the App Trends feature is usefu in understand what apps are trending and the velocity of their popularity, as well as an opportunity to dig into specific categories (and countries) with relative ease.
