Through the feature, users who turn on their location services and are in attendance at live events are able to contribute snaps to the same story, enabling users who are not at the event to watch these snaps. Because of Our Story's success, Snapchat is expanding the functionality. According to Snapchat's [announcement](https://blog.snapchat.com/post/96103104325/its-live), users will now see a "Live" section beneath the app's Recent Updates section. The Live section will display Stories contributed by the Snapchat community at a variety of events. Although the company has not yet shed light on how it will determine which live events are featured, this functinoality could open up monetization opportunities for the popular app. ![](https://www.websitemagazine.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/ourstorysnapchat-2-1-1-1.png?width=630&height=320&name=ourstorysnapchat-2-1-1-1.png) --- --- ![Allison Howen](https://www.websitemagazine.com/hubfs/Allison%20Howen.jpeg) [Allison Howen](https://www.websitemagazine.com/social-media/author/allison-howen) I'm a creative and adaptable journalist with experience in both print and digital media.
