The top three vendors which include Microsoft, IBM, and Cisco accounted for over 55 percent of the market total. This might just be the opportunity you've been looking for - but you better get started. "A large portion of collaborative applications market players showed revenue declines in 2009 from 2008. However, those companies with some of the largest year-over-year growth came from the emerging social platforms submarket," says Erin Traudt, research director for IDC's Enterprise Collaboration and Social Solutions program. Count on the collaborative application market making a rebound in 2010. It would be wise to explore these opportunities in every capacity.
