Skimlink Rethinks the Hyperlink

Written by Peter Devereaux | Apr 3, 2014 5:00:00 AM

Content monetization platform Skimlinks has released a new version of its Skimlinks Editor product which enables publishers to create links that automatically update to reflect destination changes, reader geography, stock availability, price changes, and more.

Skimlinks Editor is a Chrome extension that lets publishers see important details about the products and retailers they are linking to; the new version adds real-time pricing to product links and offers readers more merchant choices.

"Unlike disposable newspapers, digital content lives online for years and readers continue to consume old content over time-particularly content that references products. Publishers want commerce-related digital content to stay current for readers, but until today the process of updating hyperlinks and product references has been painstakingly manual," said Alicia Navarro, cofounder and CEO of Skimlinks.
