Multichannel retailer Sierra Trading Post has unveiled its new Developer Network and application programming interface (API) portal. The new API gives app developers access to a detailed listing of Sierra Trading Post's 100,000-plus product SKUs and meta data, including product descriptions, specs, images, available inventory, colors and sizes, pricing and more.

Developers have access to the more than 2,000 brand names that Sierra Trading Post carries and thousands of customer-generated product reviews. Using the new network, developers are able to manage their API keys, apps and performance all in one convenient location.

"We're excited about offering our data to the rest of the world so that programmers can use it to develop new apps," says Mike Tran, technology and business developer for Sierra Trading Post. "We believe in opening up our data and encouraging other developers to showcase their talents, creativity and innovative minds. Open data and collaboration add up to endless possibilities."

In addition to data access, developers who create successful apps using Sierra Trading Post's API have the potential to make money by joining the affiliate network.

Developers can check out the new Sierra Trading Post API and Developer Network for more information.
