Written by Peter Devereaux | Jun 1, 2013 5:00:00 AM

Metrics no longer confine Internet professionals to their desks, because mobile analytics apps make it possible to measure performance metrics (and success) around the clock and on the go.

In fact, even a quick glance at one's smartphone is enough to see if running an advertisement or posting on Facebook directly influences the behavior of website visitors. Keep up with your enterprise's performance metrics, even when away from your desktop, by checking out five awesome apps for analytics awareness below:

Google Analytics - Android

Google's popular analytic service is available for free on Android devices. The app can be used to measure real-time data, such as active visitors and top active pages. Plus, the app provides dashboards for metrics like unique visitors and conversion rates. Users can add additional charts if desired, as well as customize chart data, such as the sampling interval, metrics shown, add an advanced segment or change the date range.

Piwik - Android and iOS

If you use Piwik's open source Web analytics platform to monitor your site's performance metrics, then take a minute to download the platform's free mobile app so you can continue to monitor while away from your desktop. This app is available for both iOS and Android devices (including tablets). The app displays real time visitor data, can be used to manage multiple Piwik accounts, includes graphs and reports and allows users to offer coupons to shoppers in order to increase sharing and social traffic.

Informly - iOS

The Informly app for iOS can be used to keep track of simple statistics from a variety of cloud services. For example, the app can be configured to create charts based on data pulled in from services like Mail Chimp, Google Analytics, Xero, Klout, Pingdom.com and more. In addition, the charts are color coded in order to make it easy for users to identify trends between months.

1&1 Insights - Android and iOS

If you run a 1&1 website, there is no reason to be left out of the loop in regards to its performance metrics. This is because 1&1 offers a free Insights app for both Android and iOS devices, which allows users to keep an eye on key performance indicators (KPI's) with just a glance. After users download the app they can log in with their domain name and password and then choose to display their site's data in chart or list form within the app's dashboard.

Webtrends - iOS (iPad)

The free Webtrends mobile app for iPad allows users to view trending data from Facebook, Twitter YouTube and Webtrend's Analytics 10 profiles. For example, the app can be leveraged to display Web metrics like visitor numbers, page views, bounce rate and average time on site, as well as Facebook data, such as likes, comments and people talking. Likewise, the app provides Twitter follower numbers, tweets, Klout ranking, total YouTube channel views, subscriber count, videos ranked by the number of views and more.
