Selling and Shipping on Instagram Made Easy

Written by Peter Devereaux | Apr 6, 2015 5:00:00 AM

ShipStation is helping improve retailers' selling initiatives on Instagram, as the ecommerce shipping solution has unveiled a new integration with social commerce app Penny.

Retailers can leverage Penny to sell products on Instagram with a hashtag. To use the service, retailers simply need to sync their Instagram accounts to Penny and provide their bank account information to the service. Retailers can then tag sale posts with the hashtag "#paywithpenny" to help new Penny users discover their shops. When a consumer wants to make a purchase, they simply comment "#sold" on the post and Penny takes care of the rest.

"We're excited to partner with ShipStation because they're all about making ecommerce easier, just like we are," says Trevor Boehm, Penny's CEO and co-founder. "While Penny makes it seamless to accept orders directly over Instagram, our integration with ShipStation seamlessly syncs those orders from Penny for quick and easy fulfillment."

It is important to note that the Penny integration is now available to all ShipStation customers.

"Instagram is growing rapidly, and is becoming an increasingly important sales channel for our merchants," said ShipStation's Vice President of Marketing, Robert Gilbreath. "Our new integration with Penny allows online sellers to make their shipping and fulfillment process easy and efficient."
