LightCMS, the leading Web content management system for designers and their clients, has announced a major expansion that will introduce a full line of ecommerce functionalities.

The powerful new platform will launch June 8 and enable businesses and Web designers to create and maintain a dynamic online presence for users who want to buy and sell online. Through the integrated online store, LightCMS will provide site owners with the ability to highlight various content including blogs, forms, photo galleries and more alongside their products.

The new ecommerce functionality eliminates the need to edit in a dashboard by making changes right on the page so that businesses and designers have an easy way to manage all aspects of their websites. There is no added monthly cost for incorporating an online store onto a LightCMS site.

"Growing out of our experience as Web designers, we saw a need to not only offer users an integrated online store, but extend our easy-to-use platform to businesses who want to run and maintain their own site," says Justin Cowen, COO of Element Fusion, developers of LightCMS. "We firmly believe that an online presence should be easy to build and maintain, and be built on a platform that can evolve as the site expands and business grows."

Features of the new online store include the following:

-    Product Listings, Settings and Tracking - Users can add product information, upload product images, and create unlimited variants with up to three customizable options. They can also track product inventory and weight for shipping along with pricing and product tags.

-    Shopping Cart & Checkout - The user experience is managed by an intuitive shopping cart and secure checkout process. Payment processing can be handled by PayPal, Google Checkout or Authorize.net.

-    Manage Orders - LightCMS now includes an order management screen to search, find, fill, cancel and refund orders. Completely flexible, users can find customers, add notes and even export email addresses to assist in ongoing marketing efforts.

-    Cost of Service - There is no additional monthly charge associated with using the online store. The only cost is a 1-percent transaction fee (2 percent on the LightCMS Basic Plan), plus any fees charged by the payment processor the company uses.
