"Ecommerce companies are becoming increasingly data-savvy, and want to use their data for email marketing, advertising, analytics, a/b testing and more," said Peter Reinhardt, CEO and co-founder of Segment. "With Segment's plugins, online retailers can install these kinds of tools with the flip of a switch and immediately start using their data to drive revenue." When ecommerce websites built on Magento, WooCommerce, WordPress ecommerce and Goodsie turn on the Segment plugin, Segment starts tracking important user actions like viewing products, adding items to carts, and completing orders. Segment translates and routes this data to every tool customers turn on in the Segment control panel. As a result, Segment eliminates the need to install analytics, advertising and email services separately, saving online retailers on developer costs.
