Social powerhouse Reddit announced it will soon launch a new site called Upvoted (at the time of writing the site is still not live) that will feature the top content from its community.

The site will reportedly feature content (including stories, infographics, illustrations, and videos) in various topical categories (sports, entertainment, etc.), but in a rather surprising move, won't allow its users to comment or vote on posts. Surprised? Don't be.

Reddit has been under fire for the past year for the negativity that often surrounds and vitriol that is embedded in many subreddits. Reddit will utilize a small editorial team, led by journalist and former Myspace editorial director Vickie Chang, to create stories for the site based on the best posts from Reddit.
