Many of the plugins bring so much value to the Web experience that it's nearly criminal to not metnion those that really stand out when you come across them. Case in point - [**Lazy Load - a jQuery plugin**](https://www.appelsiini.net/projects/lazyload) developed by Mika Tuupola that delays the loading of images in long web pages. If you've got a long web page with a lot of images then you're going to be impressed with Lazy Load. The plugin forces images outside of the viewport (the visible part of a web page) to not load until the user scrolls to them. The result is that pages load much faster. Designers can set the threshold on how close to the edge an image should come before it is loaded. You can also set a placeholder image and a custom event to trigger loading. There's a lot more that goes along with it but those are the highlights. Enjoy and let us know what you think! ![Pete Prestipino](https://www.websitemagazine.com/hubfs/Pete%20Prestipino.jpeg) [Pete Prestipino](https://www.websitemagazine.com/web-design/author/pete-prestipino) Digital marketing executive with proven experience in all aspects of search engine optimization (SEO), performance-based advertising, consumer-generated/social media, email marketing, lead generation, Web design, usability, and analytics. - 20-year Internet marketing veteran, currently serving as the Digital Marketing Campaign Manager at Antenna Group (formerly Chicago Digital). - Former Editor-In-Chief of Website Magazine, and a regular speaker on Web technology digital marketing strategy - Author of several books on digital marketing Including Web 360: The Fundamentals of Web Success; Affiliate 360: The Fundamentals of Performance Marketing; Domains 360: The Fundamentals of Buying & Selling Domain Names, and SEO 360: The Fundamentals of Search Engine Optimization. - - - [mailto:peter@websitemagazine.com](mailto:peter@websitemagazine.com) #### Popular Post ### [6 Sexy Web Design Agency Websites ![6 Sexy Web Design Agency Websites](https://www.websitemagazine.com/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/gradient-regular-logo-mark-Jan-23-2023-02-19-54-9734-PM-Apr-10-2023-01-58-57-4342-PM-Apr-25-2023-03-47-11-5390-AM-May-01-2023-10-24-02-6643-PM.png)](https://www.websitemagazine.com/web-design/6-sexy-web-design-agency-websites) ### [Six User Testing Questions to Ask While Navigating Website Redesigns ![Six User Testing Questions to Ask While Navigating Website Redesigns](https://www.websitemagazine.com/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/question-mark483bf98ec5e163acbc5dff0000ff1aaa-3-1-1-1.png)](https://www.websitemagazine.com/web-design/six-user-testing-questions-to-ask-while-navigating-website-redesigns) ### [The Most Popular Fonts of 2015 ![The Most Popular Fonts of 2015](https://www.websitemagazine.com/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/serifshot-3-1-1-1.jpg)](https://www.websitemagazine.com/web-design/the-most-popular-fonts) #### Subscribe to Our Newsletter!
