Making Instagram Shoppable

Posted on 8.28.2014

Curalate is helping retailers monetize their Instagram feeds, as the visual analytics and marketing platform has launched a new feature that makes a brand’s Instagram feed shoppable.

The feature, dubbed Like2Buy, enables social teams to link photos from a brand’s Instagram account to products available on the brand’s e-commerce site. By featuring the Like2Buy link in the brand’s about section on Instagram, consumers are able to pull up a gallery of shoppable Instagram photos and click through to purchase products on the brand’s website. Moreover, consumers can view a personalized feed of the product photos they’ve liked that are also available for purchase. Plus, Like2Buy requires no e-commerce integration and can be implemented very quickly.

"Instagram turns creativity into commerce by changing the way consumers engage with products from their favorite brands," said Apu Gupta, CEO and co-founder of Curalate. "With Like2Buy, Curalate is providing retailers the most seamless and secure method of driving traffic and revenue from Instagram while providing digital marketers the ability to immediately demonstrate value from their efforts."

Nordstrom is the first brand to adopt Like2Buy, and according to the company’s Social Media Director Bryan Galipeau, the feature enables social customers to more efficiently purchase items they like on Nordstrom’s Instagram feed.

“We continue to hear from customers that they want speed and convenience incorporated into all the places they shop – including our social platforms,” said Galipeau. “We connect with more than 500,000 customers on Instagram by posting items we hope they find inspirational, beautiful and fun. Like2Buy enhances the experience even more for customers who want to take the next step and learn more about the great fashion we’re featuring or even make a purchase.”

Like2Buy is currently available to the more than 450 brands working with Curalate. Plus, the feature will be rolled out to the rest of the public in the coming weeks, with non-clients able to pre-register for the feature. It is also important to note that Like2Buy integrates with Curalate’s existing platform, which enables users to tie analytics to their presence on image-based sites like Pinterest, Instagram, Tumblr and Facebook.
