Nearly a year ago Yahoo announced the elimination of People Search, Xobni and their Chrome toolbar.

In a recent blog post Yahoo announced more changes to its platform and the technologies they power.

One of the many changes that users will see in the Web tech company's lineup is the discontinuation of support for Yahoo mail on the built-in Mail app for iOS devices running iOS 4 or earlier. Instead, users will have to access their Yahoo Mail on their mobile Web browser. Also, while the Yahoo Maps site is closing at the end of June, Yahoo will continue to support Maps on Yahoo search and other properties including Flickr.

Other changes to Yahoo and their technologies include the discontinuation of support for Yahoo Pipes in August and the closing of Yahoo Music in France and Canada in mid-June.

"At Yahoo, we continue to focus on our key product pillars: search, communications and digital content. Part of that focus includes taking a hard look at our existing products and services, and ensuring our resources are spent smartly and with a clear purpose. Ultimately, we want to provide you with the best products, platforms and experiences possible," states the Yahoo blog post.
