The supply chain management technique of drop shipping is very enticing to retailers on the Web, because instead of keeping products in stock, customer orders and shipment details are transferred to either the manufacturer or wholesaler, who then ships the products out directly.

Recently, Classic Touch Decor has chosen Continents Apart, a rep group that specializes in drop shipping for home, gifts and lifestyles, to exclusively represent the Classic Touch Décor product lines, including eight current lines and all future releases.

"At Classic Touch, every staff member has a commitment to provide customers with quality and service excellence," says Henry Spitzer, Classic Touch Sales Manager. "This is why we sought out the skill of the Continents Apart staff, to enable us to achieve these principles in new and expanding markets."

In addition to not having to obtain a storage unit for inventory, other benefits of drop shipping include a retailer's ability to expand product offerings and protection against unexpected product demand - especially since there is nothing worse than losing a sale due to a sold out item.
