These have been made very popular by Groupon, a pioneer in the online local coupon industry that has seen wild success offering deep discounts to a group of consumers when a minimum sign-up threshold is met. The savings are significant and consumers have responded. For websites with a local focus,'s Daily Deal could make a nice addition to the advertising mix.
