Ever since Google Reader closed its doors, Feedly has been the de facto leader in RSS stream readers.
The service just announced that the latest version for Android is now available in Google Play. Version 17 of the Feedly app boasts a 300 percent faster start up experience, enhanced feed search, smoother scrolling and a reworked widget to for the home screen, as well as a new "discover" section to browse stories. In addition, several welcome improvements have been made to the visual design and readability of the app.
Feedly indicated that version 17 of its app will be submitted to Apple this week and should be available within the app store shortly after.
