Mobile Orders Increase by 146%

M-commerce continues its upward growth, as a new 3rd quarter report from Rakuten LinkShare reveals that the affiliate network saw mobile orders increase by 146 percent year over year (YOY).

 

More specifically, the m-commerce report shows that tablet orders increased 120 percent YOY, while smartphone orders actually increased 230 percent. The strongest growth categories for mobile include department stores with orders up 95 percent YOY, apparel with mobile orders up 54 percent YOY and high-end luxury goods with mobile orders up 31 percent YOY.

Other noteworthy stats from the affiliate network's 3rd quarter report include a 22 percent YOY increase in same store sales in the U.S., and a 34 percent YOY increase for same store sales in the U.K. In addition, numerous advertisers have joined the Rakuten LinkShare network in the 3rd quarter, including Nike in the U.S., Birchbox in the U.K. and Forever 21 in Canada, to name a few.
