Verizon Comes to Minecraft

Verizon just released a creative way for Minecraft users to make a working cellphone in the game.

To get the in-game phone to work, Verizon used a serve plugin called Boxel that converts Web pages and video into Minecraft blocks and then displays them on the screen.

The phone itself is immense (even for Minecraft standards), but that is due to the inordinately large number of boxes needed to show the content it is showing.

Verizon made the libaries open source and available on GitHub.
