Mobile Pay & UGC Nothing to giggle About

The 2015 Future of Retail study from Walker Sands indicates while only four percent of consumers have used Apple Pay in the past year, 18 percent say its introduction makes them more likely to make a purchase with their smartphone in the near future.

This is good news for Oven Bits, which just launched Pivot - offering native checkout with Apple Pay, using Demandware. Pivot, a native mobile commerce app (available on both iOS and Android) is built on the Demandware Commerce Cloud and can be white-labeled and fully customized for brands.

Oven Bits successfully launched Pivot(R) for baby product retailer, giggle.com, using a revenue-sharing model. The app makes it possible for customers to complete their orders in seconds, as they can either snap a picture of their credit card or check out using Apple Pay (which of course stores billing info so it doesn't need to be re-entered).

What's more, since moms are heavily engaged on social media, the app wisely leverages user-generated content (like pictures users publicly post on their social media accounts) to have "fresh, relatable content." This is done through Olapic, which turns consumer-generated photos and videos into brand assets (reducing content-generating demands while increasing conversions).

Olapic even associates the products in the photos with product details, allowing customers to easily add items to their shopping cart or gift registry.
