AddShoppers is looking to strengthen its product offerings, as the social marketing and analytics platform for ecommerce merchants has entered an agreement to acquire social sharing and customer reward platform Sociaby.

According to an announcement on Socaiby's website, the acquisition will enable AddShoppers to offer a more comprehensive suite of social marketing tools to ecommerce merchants. Sociaby customers will have until around September 1st, 2014 to transition the code on their sites to AddShoppers' new tools. It is also important to note that, for now, social media links that utilize the social.by short URL will continue to exist and redirect.

"We're focused on creating the best social marketing platform in the world and getting it in the hands of as many clients as possible," said Jon West, co-founder and CEO of AddShoppers. "The Sociaby acquisition bolsters the former and accelerates the latter."

The AddShoppers platform offers a variety of social apps for ecommerce merchants, including social reward and refer-a-friend apps. Moreover, AddShoppers is leveraged by thousands of merchants across the globe, including the Economist, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and Everlast.

"We could not be more pleased with our acquisition by AddShoppers," said Sociaby Founder and CEO Ammon Brown. "As the market leader in our space they are extremely well positioned to serve our clients' needs."
