Crushed It: Candy Crush & The Fleeting Popularity of Mobile Games

Candy Crush maker King Digital has been acquired by game publisher Activision Blizzard (ATVI) for a reported $5.9 billion. What does this mean for the future of your favorite mobile and social games? 

The deal combines two of the top five highest-grossing mobile games in the U.S. (Candy Crush Saga and Candy Crush Soda Saga), with the top global console video-game franchise in Call of Duty, and the world's biggest PC game franchise, World of Warcraft.
