Candy Crush maker King Digital has been acquired by game publisher Activision Blizzard (ATVI) for a reported $5.9 billion. What does this mean for the future of your favorite mobile and social games?
The deal combines two of the top five highest-grossing mobile games in the U.S. (Candy Crush Saga and Candy Crush Soda Saga), with the top global console video-game franchise in Call of Duty, and the world's biggest PC game franchise, World of Warcraft.
The question will be whether Candy Crush remains popular with users. Will they continue playing the game(s), particularly with so many alternatives? Let us know your thoughts with a comment below!
