Bold Software has announced the general availability of BoldChat version 7.1, designed to help small businesses more easily and cost-effectively communicate with their customers and prospects online to drive sales and customer satisfaction.

With this iteration, small businesses can have a powerful live-chat solution starting at $9 per month per agent, making live chat affordable for almost any business. With this new price come innovative enhancements that can add value to any website, including the following:

-    Floating chat button. Floating chat buttons enable a company to deploy live chat without impacting the layout or design aesthetics of their existing website.  Buttons can be chosen from a gallery, or you can upload your own.  Floating chat buttons can optionally "scroll-out" to reveal further graphics and messaging.

-    New chat window customization. Simple, yet powerful, customizations can easily be done, allowing a business to change the configuration of the chat window, including the ability to optionally add an agent's photo.

-    Automatic, time-on-site proactive functionality. This enables a business to drive more chat interactions by automatically issuing a proactive chat invitation to visitors based on their time on the website.

Floating chat button capability, new chat window customization and automatic, time-on-site proactive functionality are available immediately in the 7.1 versions of all BoldChat editions - from Basic to Enterprise.

"We conducted research earlier this year and found that one in five shoppers prefers live chat more than any other communication method," says Steve Castro-Miller, president and CEO of Bold Software. "In addition, these live-chat fans are highly desirable in that they typically have a higher household income than average and spend more money online per year than other shoppers. With BoldChat Basic starting at under $10 per month per agent, it puts the power that live chat can deliver into the hands of almost any small business."
